Surgical Dental Operation

Dental surgery is a branch of dentistry that focuses on problems related to teeth, gums, and mouth. In surgical dental operations that are part of dentistry, solutions are offered on issues such as conditions of the oral cavity, disorders of the structure of the mouth and teeth, treatment, prevention, diagnosis and examination of oral and dental diseases.

Maxillofacial Surgery

Maxillofacial surgery deals with the surgical treatment of all pathologies in the face and jaw bone, as well as dental-related surgical procedures. The main operations in maxillofacial surgery, the boundaries of which have been expanded in recent years, are as follows;

  • Jawbone cyst
  • Twenty years of surgery
  • Joint problems
  • Tongue and lip wounds
  • Jaw fractures

What is a Buried Tooth?

Impacted tooth or impacted tooth; Teeth that remain under erupted gums or bones when they should have erupted are called. Impacted teeth are:

  • Wisdom teeth
  • Canine teeth
  • Small molars

Teeth that cannot be corrected or replaced with orthodontic treatment (braces) are removed with maxillofacial surgery procedures.

When Should Buried Teeth Be Removed?

Wisdom teeth, which come first among the decayed teeth, cannot come out due to lack of space. Completely buried teeth remain under both the gums and the jawbone. They can also remain half-buried under the gum. Fully embedded wisdom teeth can compress the teeth in front of them. This condition can lead to a cross in the teeth. Even if it does not cause problems with other teeth, wisdom teeth may need to be pulled out for proper sorting.

What İs A Dental Cyst?

A dental cyst is a pathogenic structure that can develop in the roots of the tooth or in any area of the jawbone. Cyst surgery is a mandatory procedure. Drug therapy remains inadequate. For this reason, the tooth cyst should be removed surgically from the area where they are located. Advanced levels of the tooth cyst can lead to jaw bone deformities. In this case, it is necessary to remove the tissues with cysts. Periodic checks should be performed after dental cyst surgery.
