Endodontics Canal Treatment

Endodontics, or Root Canal Treatment, as it is popularly known, is a specialty within the field of dentistry. Physicians who are specialists in the field of endodontics are called “endodontists”. This method, which disconnects the tooth from the surrounding tissues, minimizes the risk of infection.

What is Endodontics?

Endodontics is one of the main branches of dentistry. It is a science that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental pulp diseases. Dental pulp, or tooth extract, refers to living tissues such as veins and nerves in the inner part of the tooth. It also covers the tissues surrounding the tooth itself. Endodontic treatment is considered in a very wide range of traumatic dental problems, surgical applications and problems associated with dental pulp.

How is Canal Treatment Performed?

Root canal treatment is a dental treatment that decouples the relationship between the tooth and the surrounding tissue. The main purpose of this treatment is to prevent the occurrence of infection in the dental pulp or to reduce the risk of recurrence of the infection. Endodontic treatment is a treatment method in which processes such as removing the vessels and nerves in the pulp of the tooth, disinfecting the cavity formed here, expanding the dental canal, closing the canal cavity with a special filling material, and covering the tooth are involved.

Dental examinations are performed before canal treatment and radiology methods are applied. After the dentist decides that canal treatment should be performed, local anesthesia is applied to the area. First, the tooth enamel and caries in the tooth layer are cleaned. A channel is opened to reach the dental pulp. Then the tooth is isolated and the tooth root canal is disinfected. The channel cavity formed after this procedure is closed with fillers. In cases where there is an excess of substance losses in the tooth, methods such as endochronous, veneers are used for the upper structure.

Application of Endochron

In the treatment of the root canal, various restorations are performed against tissue loss, disorders of the form and function of the tooth. These restorations are also performed for purposes such as connecting with the lateral teeth, providing occlusal stability, and protecting the tooth against root fractures. In order to prevent tissue loss and protect dental tissue, endocrine restorations are performed. The application of endochron improves chewing on the restored teeth and dissipates the stresses associated with chewing.

Application of Fiber Post

Fiber post application is the process of gluing a fiber rod with chemical agents to the root canal. This procedure is performed if the wall structure of the tooth undergoing root canal treatment has completely disappeared or is insufficient. With the inserted rod, support is taken from the root. A filler is applied to the supported area. The fiber glued to the root canal is a fairly durable solution. The new generation of pelts is reinforced with fiber.

What to Know About Endodontics

  • In endodontic treatment, the tooth is disconnected from living tissues. Although the tooth is devital ? (non-living), the chewing function continues.
  • Root canal treatment provides repair of the tooth and saves the tooth from being pulled out.
  • Canal treatment can last from 2 to 3 sessions. The average duration of each session is 1 hour.
  • Sensitivity may occur for several days on the tooth undergoing root canal treatment.
