Prosthetic dental treatment is a treatment method used to eliminate abnormalities in the structure of the tooth that occur as a result of the loss of teeth and restore the function of the teeth. It is one of the treatments performed to restore the aesthetics of the mouth and smile.

What are the Types of Prostheses?

In prosthetic dental treatments, types of prostheses are applied instead of the lost teeth.

Fixed prostheses: It is a prosthetic method performed by receiving support from healthy teeth or implants. Types of fixed prostheses can be listed as follows:

• Metal backed porcelain cap
• Zirconium supported capping
• Crown bridge applications
• Inlay/Onlay

Removable prostheses: It is also known as “palatal prosthesis”. It is applied to people who have lost all their teeth.

Hybrid prosthesis: It is a type of prosthesis that includes both fixed and removable prostheses. It offers very comfortable use.

Precision retainer prostheses: It is one of the types of combined prostheses. It supports edentulous cavities with removable dentures. Disorders such as color, shape and position of existing teeth are also corrected with fixed prostheses.

Implant prostheses: It is the process of placing fixed or movable prostheses on implants.
